Education

September 2022 — January 2025

University of Leiden

Master of Science in Mathematics (Specialisation: Algebra, Geometry, and Number Theory)

Master thesis — Jacobi uniformisation over the p-adic numbers. Available here on the Leiden University Student Repository. The thesis extends the Jacobi intersection model of elliptic curves over the complex numbers, traditionally described through Jacobi theta functions, into the p-adic setting. By constructing integral power series expansions for new p-adic analogues of Jacobi elliptic functions, a non-Archimedean counterpart to the classical complex theory is provided, analogous to John Tate’s p-adic uniformization of elliptic curves for the Weierstraß model. Grade: 8/10. Relevant coursework: Elliptic Curves, Algebraic Curves, Coding Theory, Group Theory, and Dynamical Systems.

February 2021 — February 2022

University of Pretoria

Bachelor Honour’s Degree in Mathematics (Cum Laude)

Thesis: Geometrical Constants of Banach Spaces. Grade: 80%. Relevant coursework: Numerical Analysis, Stochastic Calculus, Measure Theory, Axiomatic Set Theory, and Mathematical Logic.
